Description: | The Historic Arkansas Riverwalk of Pueblo (HARP) lacked a significant parking facility. In addition, a parking structure was needed to accommodate new business development in the surrounding area. This five-level total precast/prestressed 235,671 sf structure was designed and constructed to furnish the area with 723 parking spaces. Precast concrete was chosen because of its versatility. Utility-sized inset thin brick, acid etch, and sandblast finishes produced an attractive facade that complements the historic area of Union Avenue. The north and west entrances, including the view from the HARP, are eye-catching, captured in banded brick spandrels accentuatedby sand-hued pediments adorned with colorful artwork. Local artists were commissioned to craft the metal ribbon sculptures which were attached to the 42’x14’ and 27’x14’ acid-etched pediments after precast installation. | |
