City of Pueblo Emergency Services Center
This new 25,000 sf Emergency Services Center for Pueblo County consisted of construction of a two-story steel and masonry structure, site work and landscaping with a portion of the building meeting IECC 500 Storm Shelter requirements. This building serves as as an emergency operations center for the southern Colorado region and a back-up to Denver’s main site for Colorado. The facility includes a community conference room for up to 100 people and is extremely high tech with many visual aids and up-to-date computer technologies. This building was funded by FEMA with funds from the Chemical Stockpile Depot decommissioning process. The facility includes ESC staff offices, training/media briefing areas, Emergency Operations Center, Colorado State Environmental Protection offices, Public Safety IT offices, Communications Center (E911), Joint Information Center, equipment rooms, common areas, garage and storage areas with the associated ancillary and support spaces, security, parking and related amenities.
