|Description:||This 80+ year old church is in an urban setting. There was a need for a handicap entrance and a marshaling area for large ceremonial activities. This church acts as the Cathedral for the southern Colorado Diocese.|
The front doors of the church were set right on the street sidewalk with about six stairs and the narthex was very minimal. The solution was to build a small addition which comes off the arm of the cruciform church plan near the parking area.
HGF Architects, Inc. acted as the Designers and Construction Managers on this interior and exterior restoration project. The scope of work included but was not limited to the following:
Interior work on existing nave, sanctuary, etc.
