Vail Hotel

Location:  Pueblo, CO

Owner:  Housing Authority of Pueblo

Description:  This project involved renovation of a historic 5-story Pueblo Landmark into a 56-unit apartment complex for the elderly. The renovation of this 5-story building plus basement, elevator penthouse and mezzanine included:

• gutting of the upper floors and basement (retaining the historical features)
• exterior masonry cleaning
• complete restoration/renovation of the hotel to apartment units with the most modern mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems including elevator installations
• new roof fire exits, sidewalks, and paving

Vail Park was done by separate contract in 1984 by Mountain Air Construction at a cost of $62,000. This project received the National HUD Award.
